Emily Duke (First Voice) is an Atlanta native who is so excited to join NWaC for this amazing production! Recently seen in Big Bad Spooktackular (Big Bad) and Alice (Queen of Hearts) with NWaC. Atlanta credits include, Schoolhouse Rock, LIVE!, The Tunables, West Side Story, Assassins, and The Rocky Horror Show. Many thanks to the NWaC team for the opportunity to make such wonderful art.
Mari DeOleo+^* (Second Voice), a writer/performer is trained in acting, voice, commedia dell'arte and clowning. She is overjoyed to be performing in Down The Moonlit Path. Mari is an Artistic Associate with Nothing Without A Company, a Second City Conservatory student, a teaching artist with Global Explorer Kids and works with Chicago Improv Productions and the Chicago Fringe Festival. She can be seen performing with Cold Feet at the Chicago Improv Fest, “There Might Be...Stumble” in June at The Side Project Theatre and in “On the Edge of Puberty” at the Chicago Fringe Festival in September.
Connor Baty (Hansel - Hansel & Grethel, Condor - The Hummingbird & the Shepherdess, Children - Cunnie-Mo'n-Father) is very excited to be a part of such innovative work in Chicago. It is companies like Nothing Without a Company that motivated him to move to Chitown, after graduating from The Boston Conservatory this past May. Romeo Green+^* (Luemba - Twin Brothers, Middle Brother - Hans, Who Made the Princess Laugh, Harun - The Storks & the Night Owl) is happy to be working with Rachel and Tate again as well as the entire amazing cast of this show. I am so grateful to be grown and able to play in my free time!
Franco Steeves (Cachnur - The Storks & the Night Owl, Chief Little Wolf/Little Chief - How Morning Star Lost Her Fish, Okapi/Villager 1 - Twin Brothers, King - Hans, Who Made the Princess Laugh) After publishing a novel and an award winning short story collection, Franco, a photographer and journalist, moved to Chicago in 2008 and began his acting career. He's collaborated with Halcyon Theatre, The Inconvenience, Theater Y, and National Pastime Theater. He is also in the editorial board of Contratiempo, a latino cultural monthly based in Pilsen.
Josh Mattingly* (Selim - The Storks & the Night Owl, Mavungu - Twin Brothers, Shin - The Crane Wife, Older Brother - Hans,Who Made the Princess Laugh) is excited to be making his NWaC debut. He was most recently seen in the Jedlicka Performing Arts Center production of Moon Over Buffalo. A resident of Chicago, Josh arrived to Earth when his home planet exploded. His father, a doomsday numerologist, created an infant sized escape pod which allowed Josh to safely escape the mass extinction of his people. This tragedy, of course, has been played up in popular culture. In reality, the radiation from the nearby star, Sol, does nothing more than make Josh slightly allergic to pollen while also making his elbow go funny when it's about to rain. He would like to thank his wife, Tobi, for her continued love and support.
Dāvon Roberts (Lord Clatterbeak - The Storks & the Night Owl, Cunnie - Cunnie-Mo'n-Father, Hans - Hans, Who Made the Princess Laugh) is a Chicago-based Actor and Comedian. He has been acting since he was seven years old. Davon’s passion of acting didn’t come on until he saw Rush Hour 3. Davon is currently working on a web series entitled “Sugar N’ Spice” and just finished his first film entitled “Not Another Zombie Movie……. About the Living Dead”. He is a Sophomore at Columbia College Chicago
Valerie Lyvers+^* (Lady Longlegs - The Storks & the Night Owl, Larina - Mangita & Larina, Gazelle/Villager/Old Woman - Twin Brothers) has been a company member of NWaC for 6 years, and has had the privilege to play a guinea pig, a Logan square park clown, a poetic lover, a dueling government agent, a puppeting roustabout, a haoli in a tiff, a cat witch, an international art thief, and whatever else has been thrown her way. She loves playing in festivals; favorites including Sketchfest, Abbiefest, Fight Nights, and 24 Hour Fest . She also loves scarves and studying Chinese medicine.
Heather L. Jencks
* (Nzambi - Twin Brothers, Mother - The Crane Wife, Hummingbird - The Hummingbird & the Shepherdess) is thrilled to be working with the truly gifted and professional artists of Nothing Without a Company and Down the Moonlit Path. A native of the Chicagoland area, Heather recently completed an advanced Shakespeare program at RADA and is a proud alumnus of Black Box Acting Studio’s Core Studio program and the improv training programs at The Second City Training Center, The Annoyance Theatre, and iO Chicago. She has performed with Prologue Theatre Company (Patria Libre), StepUp Productions (The Benchmark) and was most recently in the 2014 Women’s Theatre Alliance Juried Showcase.
Wanda Jin (Tsuru - The Crane Wife, Collyur - The Hummingbird & the Shepherdess, Old Woman - Hans, Who Made the Princess Laugh) graduated from Duke University with a degree in English Literature, Theater Studies, and Dance. After her debut performance in Manbites Dog Theater, she has been in several productions in Duke and Durham, NC. Now she has moved to Chicago to pursue a career in acting.

Akua Sarhene * (Daughther - Twin Brothers, Morning Star - How Morning Star Lost Her Fish, Poor Woman/Fairy - Mangita & Larina, Attendant - Hans, Who Made the Princess Laugh) is excited to be working with NWaC. She recently received her BFA from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Previous credits include: "El Stories" as Danielle/Ensemble, "Much Ado About Nothing" as Ensemble, Lena/Francine in "Clybourne Park," and Saint Matthew in "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot."
Morgan Eliza Cooper (Lead Magic Crew) is an Actress and Dramaturg based in Chicago and surrounding areas working in Theater, Television, and Film. Ms. Cooper has performed professionally in Chicago, Columbus, Ohio, and Off-Broadway in New York City. Paige Reilly (Magic Crew) hails from CO, and has been seen in various roles all around the city. Most recently she was privileged to play Perdita in Shakespeare's Winter's Tale with Promethean theatre, and last year she made her NWAC debut in ALICE. But her hands have been all over this world, and that's the way she likes it. Her work, as always, goes to Al, her prince in shining armour for all time. Spencer Read (Magic Crew) is very, very excited to be working magic crew in Down the Moonlit Path, his first NWaC production. He is currently residing in Chicago, IL, writing plays and poetry and all other manner of witchcraft in his spare time.

Rachel Staelens+ (Creator/Director) is incredibly excited to finally be sharing Down the Moonlit Path with such amazing creators, collaborators and audiences. This show has been running through the forests of her mind for many years and it has been invigorating to bring the stories to life. Rachel recently joined Nothing Without a Company as a company member. She first worked with them as stage manager for the premiere of Alice in 2009, and she loves the site specific nature of NWaC's work. Recent NWaC credits include the Big Bad Spooktacular: Electric Boogaloo, I Will Always Love You at Fight Night, and a slew of 24-hr Festivals. Tate A Geborkoff
+ (Adapter) is a poet and playwright working and living in Chicago. Most recently his poems have appeared in Curbside Splendor, The Doctor T.J. Eckleburg Review and Burningword Literary Journal. His plays have been produced by Step Up Productions and Nothing Without a Company and have been seen at the Chicago Fringe Festival. He was selected as a semifinalist for the Great Gay Play and Musical Contest for 2014 as well as a semifinalist for the 2015 National Playwrights Conference. In addition, he is one of the co-founders of electro bureau, a quarterly queer-tinged gaming zine and his articles have appeared on Critical Distance.
Anna Rose ii-Epstein+^ (Producer, NWaC Artistic Director) is a co-founder of Nothing Without a Company
(NWaC). She has directed, performed in,
and produced over 20 new plays with NWaC along with Ike Holter's sold out run
of LOOM. Anna Rose has production
assisted The Brig at Mary Archie
Theatre and assistant directed for Chicago directors such as Halena Kays (Lord of the Flies/Steppenwolf Theatre), Andrea J. Dymond (Blue Door/Victory Gardens Theatre), and Sean Graney (The Elephant Man/Steppenwolf Theatre).
Anna Rose is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), focusing on energy work and
body awareness. She is proud to be the originator of the Red & Gray
Playwright Festival, where students write, direct, and produce their own works
at The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in her hometown, Houston,
TX. Recently, she was featured in Windy
City Times 2014's 30 Under 30 award with her wife Hannah Ii-Epstein as the first
power couple to be honored together in this category. Anna Rose is excited for
DtMP to come to life and would like that thank Rachel for her vision and
passion, Tate for his style and wit and Hannah for her constant support. See

Edgar Miguel Sanchez+ (Producer) was born in Dominican Republic and raised in Miami, Florida. He received his B.F.A. in Acting as well as a minor in Sociology. Chicago credits: Water By The Spoonful and Native Son (Court Theatre), The Wheel (Steppenwolf), Romeo And Juliet (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre), This is Our Youth (Sankofa Theatre Company), The Ghost Is Here (Vitalist), Fever Chart (Eclipse), Brothers of the Dust (Congo Square), Sinbad: The Untold Story (Adventure Stage), 1001 (Collaboraction), Red Noses-Remount (Strawdog), Welcome To Arroyo’s (American Theatre Company), Wilson Wants It All (The House), and Twelfth Night (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre). Regional Credits: title role in Hamlet (The Gable Stage); Twelfth Night, Richard III, Troilus and Cressida, and The Admirable Crichton (American Players Theatre); A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Othello, and The Comedy of Errors (The Oregon Shakespeare Festival). Jordan Siragusa+ (Production Manager) is thrilled to be working with NWaC. He is a graduate of Columbia College with a BA in technical theater. Along with production managing, he works as a stage manager, scenic carpenter, film production assistant, and actor. Hailing from Los Angeles, his previous credits include The Killing Of Michael X: A New Film by Celia Wallace (Jackalope Theater), Hecuba (Columbia College), Cloudy With a Chance Of Meatballs 2 (Sony Animation), Bertha, The Sewing Machine Girl (Bernard Sahlins Players), and The Firebugs (Downtown Repertory Theatre Co.).
Sarah Collogne+ (Production Stage Manager) is a graduate of the University of Chicago with a degree in Theatre and Performance Studies. Previously with Nothing Without a Company she has worked on the 2013 production of Alice, and two 24 hour play festivals. She works in Chicago as a lighting designer and stage manager, with companies including The New Colony, First Floor Theater, and Third Eye Theatre Ensemble. She is also an artistic associate with First Floor Theatre and a company member with Third Eye Theatre Ensemble. She is honored to be on this walk in the woods with such a talented and dedicated team.
Taylor Figura
+ (Stage Manager) moved to Chicago from Jacksonville, Florida to pursue professional theatre. Before that, she studied both theatre and chemistry at Presbyterian College. She has worked primarily as a Stage Manager with NWaC, including Big Bad Spooktacular and the 24 Hour Fest. She spends her days working in a few scene shops around Chicagoland and serving up delicious coffee at Whole Foods Market.
Kevin Sparrow+^ (Lead Dramaturg - Cultural & Source Story Research) is a writer, performer,
and curiosity who utilizes text to create performances, performance to create
text, and both to create responses that provoke inquiry and participation.
Kevin has been a troupe member with the burlesque and variety company
Vaudezilla! since 2012, and has performed in venues including Dank Haus, the
Museum of Contemporary Art, Northwestern University, the Art Institute of
Chicago, and as part of NWaC’s 24-hour play festival. He is the recipient of
the 2014-15 MFA in Writing Teaching Fellowship from the School of the Art
Institute of Chicago and co-coordinator of the monthly artists’ salon series HI
typ/O.
Gaby Labotka+ (Dramaturg) is
an actor, director, storyteller, and choreographer living and working in the
city of Chicago. She has performed,
played, and collaborated with some great storefront theatre companies including
The House Theatre of Chicago, Mary-Arrchie Theatre Company, Redmoon,
Collaboraction, The Living Canvas, The Unrehearsed Shakespeare Company, Wayward
Productions, The Right Brain Project, and of course, Nothing Without a Company.

Ryan Tang+^ (Associate Artistic Director, Choreographer, First Voice Understudy) is "over the moon" to be working on such an exciting and beautiful project. Ryan has been involved since the first workshop of DtMP in 2014 and had loved seeing how much the show has grown in such a short amount of time. He is the Assosiate Artist Director for Nothing Without a Company. he has had the opportunity to perform full productions as well as several staged readings with Chicago Shakespeare, The Foundry, The Inconvenience, Pride Films and Plays, and of course NWaC, to name a few. An appreciation of dance and movement has led to many exciting dance and choreography opportunities including dancing in the "David Bowie Variety Hour" at the MCA with The Salts, The Fly Honey Show, as well as various other movement based projects throughout the city. Ryan is grateful for the opportunity to work with such a dream cast and crew. Special thanks to Rachel and Tate for allowing the opportunity to explore and play in the woods with you!
Will Bennett+ (Fight Choreographer) is an actor, fighter, and stunt performer on stage and film. He has been acting, fighting and falling around Chicago since 2012 and has been a NWaC Company Member since 2014. He appeared in NWaC's 2013 production of Alice, and both of the company's 2014 24 hour play fests. Outside of the company he has appeared in The Hypocrites' All Our Tragic.Screen credits include multiple Columbia College Chicago Graduate Thesis films; Stygian, For Pete's Sake, Daisy. He has also fight choreographed NWaC's 2013 and 2014 Alice, and stunt coordinated Stygian, For Pete's Sake, and Daisy. He is so stoked to continue working with NWaC and building this company to go incredible places, and is so grateful for everyone he has meet along the way.
Dave Fink+ (Vocal Coach) is
thrilled to be working on this project in a vocal and dialectical capacity! He
is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, and has has the pleasure to perform
with such companies as Lifeline Theatre, The Hypocrites, City Lit Theater
Company, The Gift Theatre Company, Theatre-Hikes, and Redmoon (to name a few).
Dave is also the founder/creator/curator of The Communal; a casual night of
listening and interaction through story and song, held every first Friday night
of the month at Collaboraction as part of their First Friday event. In addition
to all this, he's also a freelance singer/songwriter, and on the teaching
faculty at Emerald City Theatre School.
Nicci Schumacher^ (Set Design) began exploring design at Illinois Central College and
Columbia College Chicago, and has worked in the Chicago storefront scene since
2006. Nicci is excited to be back with
NWAC after working on their original production of Alice in 2010. Favorite past projects include Witch Slap! (Babes With Blades, 2014), Forest Fantasies (Lingerie Lyrique, 2012), Night of the Iguana (Columbia College Chicago, 2007), and All in the
Timing (Illinois Central College, 2004).
Jessica Harpenau (Lighting Design) is a recent MFA student at Northwestern University. While at Northwestern, she designed lights for The Wild Party, Aimée and Jaguar, A Dream Play, and The Laramie Project. Before coming to grad school, she designed for several Chicago companies including American Theater Company, Theater Wit, Profiles Theater, Stage Left Theater, Jackalope Theater, Artistic Home, and City Lit, just to name a few. John "Smooch" Medina (Projection Design) is excited to be working with Nothing Without a Company for the first time. Some of his recent credits include Projections for The Other Place with Profiles Theater, RENT with Hemmens Cultural Center and most recently he worked with Chicago Tap Theater designing projections for their production of Tightwire. Upcoming projects include Cinderella with Hinsdale Dance Company and The White Road with Irish Theater Company. Smooch is the Head of Lighting and Projection Design, Technology and Education for Midwest Event Solutions as well as the Senior Stage Technician for Hemmens Cultural Center. He Spends his free time Collecting Legos and video games as well as riding and working on his motorcycle. Whitney Masters (Costume Design) is thrilled to be working on Down the Moonlit Path with Nothing Without
a Company. She recently graduated with a BA in Theatre from the University of
Arkansas and soon thereafter moved to Chicago to pursue a career in Theatre.
Recent Chicago credits include Tomato Queen and By Special ReQuest with Quest
Ensemble Theatre. Other costume design credits include New Now Part 1 and 2
with Artists Laboratory Theatre, One Man, Two Gov'nors and Hamlet with

Chicago International Puppet Festival 2015 at The Field Museum.
Tim Foley (Sound Design/Engineering) graduated
from Columbia College in 2013 with a BA in Audio Design and Production. He
promptly translated his education into the real world by working at Columbia in
an only tangentially related field and wrecking his hearing as a guitarist in a
shoegaze band. He doesn't even listen to shoegaze. Sound design credits include
Mr Marmalade with Dream Sequence
Theatre and several shows at Columbia, the most fun of which was Antigone. He is very glad to be involved
with Down the Moonlit Path because
it's a great challenge unlike any show he's ever worked on.
Rose Freeman+ (Assistant Director) has
been directing, producing and stage managing theatre in Chicago for 10 years.
Freeman has created national fine art shows for M Gallery of Fine Art, acted as
managing producing director for Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre, and directed found
space work, burlesque, and opera.
Previous productions include Gian Carlo Menotti’s “The Medium”, Pippi’s
Lost Stockings: a Burlesque Satire, Forest Fantasies with Lingerie Lyrique, and
Alice by Micheal Wise. Freeman has been honored to assist and collaborate with
great artists such as Elizabeth Margolius, Sean Graney, and Joanie Schultz.
Favorite burlesque collaborations include Siren Jinx, Po’Chop, and Mia Divine. Freeman is a company member of Third Eye
Theatre Ensemble, an Artistic Associate with Nothing Without a Company, has
spoken on the emerging artists panel during the 2011 Chicago Theatre Symposium,
and participated in the 2012 Chicago Directors Lab.
Erica Murphy (Assistant Choreographer) is thrilled to be working with NWaC. Recent credits include As You Like it, Romeo & Juliet, A Woman of No Importance (Theater at Monmouth); and Luce (Next Theatre). She is a recent graduate from The Theatre School at DePaul University.
Philip Brankin (Script Supervisor) was
born and raised in Chicago. He has
worked with Second City, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Chicago Opera Theater,
The Piven Theatre and Bailiwick. While
working as a young producer & programmer for the Contact Theatre in
Manchester, UK, he co-created Lost & Found Festival, funded by Arts Council
England. He will soon be graduating from
The Theatre School at DePaul University.
This is his first production with Nothing Without a Company.
Kenneth Roberts (Animation/Marketing Images Design) was born in Jamaica and later came to the states for schooling. He is now based in the windy city, Chicago and works primarily as a design consultant doing anything from hard goods to concept art to animation to branding. As for his personal work, it aims to express love through the language of design. Design thinking saves lives.
Mary Patchell (Animation Design) is
thrilled to be a part of this beautiful project! She received her BA in Theatre: Directing
from Columbia College Chicago in 2007.
She was trained in wig making at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, is a
founding member of The Neapolitans, and is an Artistic Associate and former
Managing Director of Wayward Productions.
In recent years she has been busy directing, producing, and stage
managing. She is so grateful to Rachel,
Anna Rose, and the NWAC crew for supporting her desire to focus more on visual
art. Eternal thanks to her family and
friends for their constant love and encouragement.
Cameron Downing (IndeiGoGo Film) grew
up in Pella, Iowa and has always loved movies. Making short films as a kid, he
went on to study film production at Full Sail University, earning a Bachelor's
Degree in Film in 2011. After graduating, he continued shooting short films,
music videos, and commercials, and served as Assistant Editor and Steadicam
operator on the national television show The Woodsmith Shop for two and a half
seasons before moving to Chicago.
Kaitlin Carver+ (NWaC Casting Director) was introduced to the Chicago talent by interning for O'Connor Casting Company
and Chicago Shakespeare Theater. She holds a BA in Theatre and Education from
University of Massachusetts-Amherst. In the past 2 years of working with NWaC
she cast the annual remounts of Alice and The Big Bad Spooktacular. Recently,
she cast Down the Moonlit Path, which was a joy to meet so many unique and
talented actors. Kaitlin is thrilled to be a part of this wonderful company!
Jake Fruend+ (NWaC Art Director) is a stage director, designer, and native of St. Louis, MO. Recent directing credits include the devised Point & Shoot, John Patrick Bray's Green Sound (Cold Basement Dramatics), Rachel DuBose & Franz Kafka's Rotpeter, Dakota Parobek's Merry Christmas, Mulch Pile (Mercy Street Theatre), and a bushel of NWaC play festivals. He is a founding member the Associate Artistic Director of Mercy Street Theatre Company. His recent design work includes art for The MDQ Podcast, Mercy Street Theatre, NWaC, Northwestern University, Columbia College Chicago, Communication is Key: the podcast, Northlight Theatre, The Book Patch, and oodles of promotional materials for shows all over Chicago. He is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago.
Hannah Ii-Epstein+ (NWaC Literary Manager) is a Founding Member of Nothing Without a Company (NWaC). Since 2007, over ten of her plays and musicals have been produced by NWaC, Mary-Arrchie's Abbie Fest, and Nothing Special Production's Fight Night. Hannah has participated as a writer in many 24 Hour Fest for NWaC, Silent Theatre, and Columbia College Chicago. Her fiction has been published in two issues of The Garland Court Review and read at Abbie Fest 2013. She has performed her poetry in Hawaii, at Harold Washington College in Chicago, as well as The Inconvenience. Hannah is currently attending Columbia College Chicago with a major in fiction.
Molly Fisher+ (NWaC Marketing Director) recently graduated from DePaul with her MFA in Acting. She has started a class at Second City for teens and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder with Nick Johne. Her last show was one of her all time favorites Hellish Half-Light at Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. You can also find Molly on The Real Deal show along with her co-partner/creater Libby Conkle; a show about 2 actresses trying to make it in Chicago.
Rosetta Lane+ (Producing Assistant) is a production assistant for Down the Moonlit
Path. She is currently pursuing a degree
in Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago with a focus on production for
events and festivals. Originally from
Vermont and new to the theatre world, she is thrilled to be working with NWaC
for the first time!
